What is the Envirothon?
The Envirothon is an
annual, international competition that has proven to be an exciting and
useful tool for incorporating environmental education into high school
classrooms. The teams consist
of five dedicated students, who compete first at the Area II Envirothon,
which includes 17 counties in North/Northeastern Ohio.
The winners from the
top four teams advance to the State Envirothon.
For more information on
how your school can get involved in the Envirothon Competition email Ron Etling,
or call 440-834-1122 x5.

2010 Northeast Ohio
Area II Envirothon
Hosted by the Geauga & Trumbull
Soil and Water Conservation Districts
The Area II Envirothon will be held on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at Camp Wise in
Burton, OH (Geauga
County).
This year's theme is "Protection of Groundwater through Urban,
Agricultural and Environmental Planning". More
information on this topic can be found on the Canon Envirothon’s website
(www.envirothon.org). The other four testing stations are soils, forestry,
aquatics, and wildlife.
To demonstrate our commitment to environmental stewardship, this year’s
Envirothon will be “Waste-Free”! This means that our goal is to have
zero waste enter the landfill as a result of this event. All products from
the event will be consumed, recycled, or composted.
Please be
conscious of what you bring to the competition.
